Farewell Smithy!
- from everyone at ICA Sports FC

Tonight our PFA Cup winning first team play PDFL Prem Champions PSL Reserves in the Peterborough FA equivalent of the Community Shield.

As well as being a nice opportunity for early season silverware, it is also our opportunity to wish good luck and farewell to one of our longest serving players, Joshua Smith.

Josh joined ICA Sports for the 2013/14 season where he helped our 'A' Team consolidate their place in Division 2. By the 2014/15 season Josh had also featured for our reserves before becoming a permanent fixture in our first team; culminating in a stellar performance in last season's PFA Cup final at the ABAX Stadium.

Josh's performance in the final - and indeed throughout the season - brought him to the attention of newly promoted UCL Division 1 outfit Pinchbeck United FC, managed by Ian Dunn.

1st Team Manager Hamish Curtis said "Tomorrow night we say goodbye, with our blessing, to 'one of our own' Josh Smith. Josh is off on a new adventure playing at a higher level with Pinchbeck under a great manager in Dunny.
I first met Josh whilst playing for ICA 'A' team three years ago and instantly saw what he was capable of and he has been with me ever since.
Thank you for your service over the last three seasons, you've been a pleasure to coach, manage and call a friend.
I will miss you, the Club will miss you and we all wish you luck".

Josh responded to Hamish's comments "Thank you mate, I've loved every minute playing for you and ICA Sports. I've learnt so much and feel that I'm twice the player I was before I joined up with you. Thanks to you, Gus, Ces, Raph and all the lads for all the effort, commitment and patience you have given me! Let's get one more medal tonight".

The Jack Hogg Shield is a 7.30pm kick-off at Yaxley FC's in2itive Park.
