ICA Sports Inclusive Football

Inspire Peterborough, Huntingdonshire FA & ICA Sports Football Club are working to bring a range of Inclusive Football sessions to the city

These new sessions will start in March 2019 at Powerleague Peterborough and will include sessions for ages 6 years old and upwards. The sessions will be led by FA Qualified Community Football Coaches who will create an engaging, enjoyable and inclusive environment for all involved.

Over the next three months, demand will be investigated to allow appropriate groups to be established. If you, or somebody you know would be interested, please register your interest

Once sessions are established there will be opportunities to participate in a range of friendlies, tournaments and festivals.

This is an exciting new project for Peterborough and if you, or know someone who may be, interested in attending please email either Steve Purnell, ICA Sports or Sarah Hudson, Hunts FA.

We would also be delighted to hear from any coaches that would be interested in helping run the sessions from March 2019. Please drop us an email if you would like to be involved.

Inspire Peterborough Development Manager, Nikki Griffiths, said 'Inspire Peterborough are very exciting about being part of this project and we are really looking forward to seeing the opportunities for people with a disability to play football in Peterborough grow.’

Huntingdonshire Football Association Disability Officer, Sarah Hudson, said ‘Huntingdonshire Football Association are just embarking on a three-year project to develop more opportunities to allow disabled people to play football in the region. This project will offer the opportunity for people with a range of disabilities across all age groups to participate in organised football sessions in a safe and enjoyable environment.’

ICA Sports Vice-Chairman, Steve Purnell, said 'ICA Sports are delighted to work with the Huntingdonshire FA and Inspire Peterborough to offer people with disabilities the opportunity to play football, keep fit and make new friends. It demonstrates our commitment to improving the opportunities for all people in Peterborough and is expected to see several disability teams established for the 2019/2020 Football Season.'
